Emmet Otter by KaeMantis Emmet Otter by KaeMantis
I drew this for my mom this Christmas. It's Emmet from the adorable Muppet holiday special, "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas". Me and Mom and my sister and brother have watched this show every Christmas since--well, forever. If you've seen it, rock on. If you haven't, and want to, try hard to get ahold of an older version taped from the TV. The dvd has big, unfortunate chunks bitten out of the story, as the Jim Henson company no longer owns--and had to edit out--the narrator, Kermit. :C

PS: That's not a Charlie Brown tree he's holding. The otters are so unpretentious that they can't find it in their hearts to fell a whole evergreen, so they settle for a Christmas Branch. :3

This is my favorite Christmas show ever. I make everyone I know watch it every year even though they don't appreciate it like they should. I'm also sad about the missing Kermit parts. Nice job on Emmet!

I haven't seen it in about 18 years; this beautiful drawing just brings back so many memories of watching it on video.

Never shown on Network TV. From what I know Emmet and his mother were DIRT POOR ! You don't get rich by hanging around fishing shacks. But that's the foundation premise of the story. Just as chickens are not capable of sustained flight is the foundation premise of CHICKEN RUN.

I always thought they settled or a branch because they were too poor to get a christmas tree :(

Aww, adorable! I loved that special when I was a kid.

And how the hell does the Henson company no longer own Kermit? *stunned*

Sold him to Disney. :c

...That is sick and wrong.

Somebody told me that Henson got him back recently, but the internet says otherwise. So it merits further investigation.
